Nature’s Yard Art

We all have childhoods memories of laying on the ground, gazing up at the clouds overhead searching for the latest fluffy, white images floating across the blue sky — a long tailed dog, a floppy eared rabbit, a winged elephant, a man smoking a cigar…

Of course, when it comes to art, nothing has a bigger canvas to paint on than the clouds and nothing has a bigger gallery for hanging things in than the sky.

But that doesn’t mean the rest of nature doesn’t like to flex its own artistic talents. Sure, the mediums tend to be mixed, the canvas’ complicated, and the galleries small and generally over crowded. But with just a little bit of focus and practice, its not to hard to imagine the kind of images the rest of Nature is sharing.

Here are some of Nature’s artwork I found in my front yard.  I’m calling this Nature’s Yard Art because it feels like it is nature’s way of having fun and giving everything their own unique twist while feeding the creative imagination of us humans …
