It is pure joy to watch the emotionally powerful and extraordinarily moving interactions between diver Ben Burville and his seal diving buddies. What a wonderful celebration of life and human/animal connection as a wild grey seal holds Ben’s hand!
At the same time, it is a sad reminder that these once simple, common, and daily interactions between humans — ritual greetings between friends… casual display of physical intimacy… heartwarming gesture of trust, care, and compassion — are still (in 2022) anything but simple, common, and daily in our Covid-19 world.
